Having grown up the daughter of a pastor and accepting the gift of salvation at a young age, Tamara Dreger Shelton has spent her life seeking Christ and allowing Him to daily transform her through the joys and trials of life.
Tamara recognized the call of God upon her life at a young age and has been seeking after the Lord's will ever since. She graduated from Anderson University where she studied Family Science, Christian Ministries, and Church Music. Following graduation, she attended Asbury Theological Seminary and earned an M.A. in Pastoral Counseling. Tamara served as a youth pastor in East Tennessee for a little over 3 years and is an ordained minister of the Church of God (Anderson, IN.) In 2007, she and her husband, Matt, moved to Anderson, Indiana where Tamara served as a Resident Director at Anderson University for four years and is taking classes working toward a Master of Divinity. She serves as Pastor of University, Young Adult, and Outreach at East Side Church of God. Tamara's husband, Matt, recently graduated from the Anderson School of Theology and serves as a hospital chaplain.
Tamara treasures her primary role and calling of "mommy" to Keira, born on April 18, 2007 and Judah, who just celebrated his first birthday on March 14.
Tamara is passionate about ministry and the church and is continually energized by serving God and His people. She loves the opportunity to share her heart and the love of Christ with people of all ages and from all walks of life.
She also loves shopping, cooking, zumba, laughing, changing her hair cut and color, running, playing video games (especially Guitar Hero), and giant cups of coffee.
